Patryk Kaczmarczyk: New Face of the Środowisko Miejskie

Who is Patryk Kaczmarczyk and what was his sports career like?

Patryk Kaczmarczyk (born June 23, 1998[1] in Kozienice) – Polish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter fighting in the featherweight category. Winner of the saber of the championship organization Army Fight Night in the featherweight division and multi-medalist of tournaments at the Amateur MMA League galas. Since March 2021, he has been a player of KSW. Current no. 2 of the KSW featherweight ranking.

Early career: 

He won the gold medal three times in the Polish MMA Championships in the 65.8 kg category and won the European Amateur MMA Championships in 2018. In 2019, he won 2nd place at the 2019 Polish MMA Championships. He fought 27 amateur fights, initially making his debut in 2014 in Katowice. He made his professional MMA debut on June 16, 2019 at Army Fight Night 6, where he defeated Daniel Matuszek by unanimous decision. He recorded another professional victory at Madness Cage Fighting 5: Freecar Fight Night in Puławy, where after 3 rounds he won by unanimous decision of the judges. In 2020, he joined the Babylon MMA organization, where he made his debut on May 25, 2020 at the Babylon MMA 13: Live in Studio gala. After three rounds, a unanimous decision of the judges was announced in his favor. At the next gala, he won his first victory early, by TKO. In the stand-up collar, he hit his liver with his knee, then moved to the ground&pound and after a while the fight ended. Then he returned to the Army Fight Night organization where, after an even fight in the Main Event of the Army Fight Night 8 gala, Kaczmarczyk defeated Adrian Kępa by triangle choke in the 3rd round and won the featherweight championship belt. On January 22, at the end of the fight, he surrendered Edgar Davalos in the clash crowning the Army Fight Night 9 gala. The fight took place within the contractual limit of 66.8 kg. After this win, the KSW organization officially confirmed that it had signed a contract with Patryk Kaczmarczyk.

In his debut for the largest organization in Europe, he defeated Michał Sobiech, known from the Only One program (program organized by KSW), by unanimous decision of the judges at KSW 60: De Fries vs. Narkun 2. The match was recognized with a financial bonus for the fight of the evening for both competitors On October 23, 2021, during KSW 64: Przybysz vs. Santos faced Robert Ruchała, whom he had previously fought in amateurism. The victory in the professional fight was won by the rival, who won by unanimous decision after three rounds. For Kaczmarczyk, it was the first professional defeat in his career. In the third clash for the Polish giant during the KSW 68 gala in Radom (March 19, 2022), he technically knocked out Michał Domin in the second round. On July 23, 2022 in Kielce at KSW 72, he took on the undefeated Dawid Śmiełowski in the fight. He lost it by knockout in the second round, after Śmiełowski landed an accurate and strong frontal kick on Kaczmarczyk's body. At XTB KSW 77: Khalidov vs. Pudzianowski, which took place on December 17, 2022 at Arena Gliwice, crossed gloves with a German, Pascal Hintzen. From the beginning of the fight, Kaczmarczyk aggressively attacked his rival and knocked him out with his knee to the body in the first round. The win earned him his first knockout bonus of the night On August 19, 2023, at XTB KSW 85: Parnasse vs. Ruchała fought against the Moldovan, Daniel Tărchilă. He won by unanimous decision. After this fight, in an interview with Mateusz Borek, he revealed that he would fight another fight at the November XTB KSW 88: Battle of Radom gala. His opponent in the main event of this event was former FEN and Babylon MMA champion Daniel Rutkowski. Even though Kaczmarczyk was not the favorite in this match, he won against the popular „Rutkem” unanimously on the points cards. After the gala, the organization awarded the fight with a bonus for the best fight of the evening. Just six months later, during XTB KSW 94, which will take place in the Ergo Arena in Gdańsk-Sopot, he will fight for the temporary KSW featherweight belt. His opponent in the return match will be Robert Ruchała.
